❓ Troubleshooting & FAQs
💻 Do I have to download the PC app to use PyShare?
No! You can use PyShare completely from the web on both PC and mobile by opening Web Transfer mode (/p2p.html). No software download is required on any device.
However, downloading the PyShare desktop app gives you extra powers: 100 MB/s local offline Wi-Fi speeds without consuming any internet, automatic file saving to your Desktop folder, and 1-click Windows clipboard sync. Both work seamlessly!
⚠️ My phone says "Site can't be reached" after scanning QR code?
1. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your PC.
2. If you are on university/college, airport, or hotel Wi-Fi, the router likely has AP Isolation (Guest Mode) turned on. Solution: Turn on your phone's Personal Hotspot and connect your PC to it, or click "🌐 Enable Internet" on your PC!
🔑 Why does the PIN keep changing?
The 4-digit PIN rotates every 30 seconds to prevent unauthorized devices on your Wi-Fi from guessing it. PyShare includes a 30-second dual-grace window, so if the PIN changes while you are typing it, your login still succeeds!
📂 Where are received files saved on the Host?
All files uploaded from client devices are automatically saved into: Desktop/PyShare_Files/Received_Files. Files you place inside Shared_Files on the Host are immediately visible for connected clients to download.
🛑 How do I shut down the server?
Click the red 🛑 button in the top right corner of the host dashboard, or press Ctrl + C in your terminal. All active connections and tunnels will close safely.
